POLO! Pomeranian Philadelphia, PA

MEET POLO!This handsome guy is a 15 year old Pomeranian who looks like a teddy bear come to life! He was surrendered to an area animal shelter, along with another dog when their previous owner ran into some housing issues. Polo is now in foster care through City of Elderly Love and hoping to land the perfect retirement home!

Polo may be blind and deaf  but has plenty of sass! Once he gets the lay of the land he makes his way around just fine and will typically stand by the door when he needs to go out to do his business. He absolutely loves playing with toys and people! When he’s ready to play he will let you know with a bow and bark or he’ll grab a toy and shake it like crazy. He’s quite lively for his age! He would very much enjoy living with other animals in his next chapter. He often cuddles with his foster siblings (cats and dogs alike). He very much enjoys being around other dogs and even plays if the right one comes along. He’s a bossy little guy-he’ll let you know when he wants up or down off the couch, when he’s hungry and when he wants some pets. 

Polo has received a full veterinary workup since coming to the rescue. He received a dental cleaning and while under sedation, his doctors found an area of tissue that looked to be inflamed so we consulted an oncologist and did a biopsy to see what we were working with. As it turns out, it really was just a patch of inflamed tissue and not cancerous. He's received the all-clear and is a healthy dude!
