Meet Polar

Well it's time to start looking for Polar's furever family. This will be challenging to find that special

person/family who is ready to take on an adorable "special needs" puppy, but we have no doubt there is an amazing family out there for him! Polar is 8+ weeks old, blind and deaf. He weighs 6.8lb. He has almost doubled his weight in 16 days! Quite the good eater!!

A little bit about him from his loving fosters:

We have fostered him for almost 3 weeks and what a love! He is very smart, he learned how to navigate our first floor in just a couple days. He loves toys and loves to explore our fenced in yard. Loves being outside he just amazes me how well he gets around.

We have taught him "TRUST", and he feels safe with us. He knows when we approach him by smell and floor vibrations. He allows me to pick him up and hug him. We have been working on touch training many times a day. I GENTLY rub his back, his legs,
his belly, his head and ears, almost massage like but very soft touches! Touch will be MOST IMPORTANT with his training ! Currently he is not food driven, I am working on finding a treat he likes. Treats and touch training go hand in hand in training a deaf/blind pup.

He can self entertain himself with a variety of different kind of toys. Afterwards he puts himself to
bed. He amazes me!

Polar is around our 3 dogs and 3 cats and there has been no issues.
I really hope and pray the perfect family reaches out sooner than later because I see him already starting to bond with us. This is so important for our little pup.

Polar is UTD with vaccines and has seen orthopedic and neurology doctors to make sure he is
adoptable ! !
We were advised to do nothing. He needs nothing done. Let him be his active self. He is one strong boy.

He sleeps in a puppy playpen. I do believe it will need to be changed out to a crate in a month or so. But for now he goes in and out as he pleases. I keep water and a small bowl of dry kibbles in there. Lots of soft bedding and a pee pad. He uses that pee pad over night only. ( just wet in the morning and not always)
He is shockingly independent!

How amazing is this little rockstar?! This special little man deserve the best of homes and we can't wait to help him find his happily ever after!!
