Meet Pogo

Meet Pogo! Pogo is around 5 years young and has quite the story here with us at Second Chance. Pogo arrived at SCHS September 19, 2019. Upon arrival, Pogo had little to no manners whatsoever, was afraid to be confined in the shelter, and wasn't sure if he could trust staff. Fast forward to todays time, Pogo walks great on leash, knows his basic manner, and can trust a stranger with a little bit of hot dog or turkey! There are some situations where Pogo can become frustrated around strangers and will require a knowledgeable adopter.

Pogo is a happy gentleman full of energy, love, and so much personality. Pogo gets along well with other dogs but does not like cats. Pogo also needs a home with no young children. He is an indoor house dog and is very sad when ignored outside. Pogo would do best in a home with a large fenced in yard so he can play ball safely. He requires daily exercise, training, and puzzles to keep his brain busy. Pogo will more than likely need a couple meet and greets to become your BFF.

We all know Pogo is a lot to take on and it is a huge amount of information to contain. Please call the shelter with any questions at 970-626-2273 as we would be happy to talk to you about our shelter BFF!

Please give us a call if you questions about a pet or complete an application at https://adoptmountainpets.org/pet-services/adoption-process/application-form to make arrangements to visit the Animal Resource Center.

Adopters will be considered on the totality of the application and how it matches the particular pet's needs.

Most dogs who come from the shelter will not be house trained.

We do not know or make guarantees that a dog or cat will do well with all children, other animals or is house-trained.

We will need to talk to all of the adults in the home prior to making an appointment to visit with a pet.

In most cases its necessary to to have family dogs come into meet your potential adoptee. Please be sure your dogs are spayed or neutered and current on vaccines (distemper - parvo and rabies) before bringing them for a meeting.

All dogs must be transported home in a travel crate to transport your new pup home safely.

Renters must provide a copy of a lease indicating pets are allowed or contact information for the landlord.
