Pit bull mix

5 years old

Female

Dogs: No

Cats: Yes

Kids: Yes

Housing: No apartments – direct access to outside required. Home in a not too dog population dense area

*Due to her breed, Pixie is looking for her forever home outside of Ontario and cities with breed specific legislation.

Pixie arrived into rescue in really bad shape suffering from 2 broken legs and severe allergies which were untreated. Today, she is a happy and healthy girl and ready to find her happy forever after! If Pixie could cuddle 24 hours a day, she would – this girl is such a snuggle bug and is looking for an equally snuggly person who can fulfill her dream of day long snuggle sessions.

Pixie is a lower energy girl and is happy with a 20 minute walk a day. She’d love a fenced yard where she could hang out with her humans during warmer days. Pixie currently lives with cats and loves them but when she hasn’t had her walk, she sometimes enjoys a game of chase. So dog savvy cats would be best to live with Pixie.

Pixie does not like dogs and can be reactive on walks when she sees them therefore a quieter neighbourhood is best for this girl. Pixie is very smart and can be easily distracted with treats during her walks and has made huge progress on learning to be calm when seeing other dogs on her walks. As for kids, Pixie does love them and currently lives with a 12 and 14 year old however she can be quite bouncy so younger, smaller kids could easily get knocked over unintentionally. Older kids are best in her home.

Pixie is housetrained and crate trained. She can often be found just chilling in her crate with her feline friend. But most often she is found lounging on the couch cuddling with her human friends! Pixie does suffer from allergies and is currently receiving monthly cytopoint injections at a cost of approximately $100/month. She is also on a dermatological diet to help keep her skin nice and comfortable.
