Pippy Australian Shepherd Mix Oklahoma City, OK

Meet Pippy, an approximately 20lb, female, Australian Shepherd Beagle mix who was born approximately February 2021 and became a Misfit due to a birth defect that caused her back legs to not fully form. This pet is spayed, up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, heart-worm negative, and micro-chipped!

Pippy is missing her back right leg and back left paw. This does not slow her down by any means! She should wear protective coverings on her nub in harsh terrain though.

Pippy is house trained and knows the “sit” command. She is a great car rider and loves to sit shotgun! She is used to being in the kennel and sleeping there. Getting her in the kennel is still a work in progress, you’ll definitely need a treat in hand! Pippy is extremely food motivated and has lots of training potential.

Pippy is good with most dogs. Due to her rambunctious nature, we recommend she not be with very small dogs or senior dogs unless properly trained and introduced. Pippy does lives with a cat and chases him. Caution should be used in a cat home because of this. She has never harmed the cat but she cannot help herself from chasing him. Pippy does not currently live with children but should do just fine with them. She is a high energy girl and loves to be active. She will do best in a home that can match her energy.

Pippy is the perfect example of a dog that hasn’t been told she’s different. She is just like any other dog, she is just missing a couple pieces. She can jump onto couches and beds with ease. This means that she may also snatch a snack out of your hand if you aren’t careful! Pippy is active and loves to play! Her best friends are a cattle dog and a GSD with matching energy. When she isn’t playing with them she is enjoying her time playing with her puzzle toys or snuffle mat. Brain teaser toys are the key to keeping this girl happy when she cannot be active. As long as you’ve gotten all that energy out of her, she also loves to cuddle with you. She enjoys spending cuddle time on the couch or sneaking into and sleeping in her fosters mom bed.
