Piper Jane Labrador Retriever & Hound Mix Palatine, IL

Piper Jane is sweet as sugar — just like her sugary white soft coat with brown sugar markings. This Kentucky stray is thought to be a Hound/ Lab (maybe with a dash of Pointer?) mix and, at approximately 1 & 1/2 years of age, a perfect 40 pound size.

This sweet girl is the whole package. She is crate-trained and housebroken and will seek you out, bark, or wait by the door to let you know she needs to potty. When it comes to food, she shows no food aggression and takes treats very gently. This will come in handy at training time as she is treat motivated. She has already mastered sit and is now working on down. Piper Jane will sleep on the couch (she is allowed on furniture at her foster's house) or in her bed.

Joy, for Piper Jane, translates to walks and being outside. She would be a great running buddy for someone. She is squirrel- and bunny-reactive (hey, it's in her genes) but has no problem with children, people, cats, and other dogs. In fact, she loves her people very much and is content to play with them or her toys if another dog is not ready to play. Piper Jane is not a big barker, with the sole exception of the adoption shows, where she gets overly excited!
