Piper Shepherd & Terrier Mix Kentwood, MI

Piper is a very sweet shepherd mix who was born around January 2021. She will most likely be a medium/large dog. Piper is the happiest, sweetest, most loving dog you could imagine. What you wouldn’t know by looking at her is that she had a rough start to life down in Alabama. When she came into the shelter she had an embedded collar injury and mange. She has since healed up well. When she first came into rescue she did take a little while to fully trust. However, she quickly learned to trust her foster parents and wants nothing more than to give love and get love. Now she rarely leaves her foster mom’s side! She will usually follow her around and sneak kisses in every chance she gets. Piper is smart and eager to please which makes her a quick learner. Since Piper is a shepherd mix she would do well with a family who will keep her active.
Piper does well with other dogs, and may even be best in a home with another dog to help to continue to build her confidence. She does well with cats with a proper introduction. She has not been around children, and we would recommend older children since she is learning not to jump and is still building confidence. Piper is mostly potty trained. She is still working on her crate training.
