Pinky Siberian Husky & Pit Bull Terrier Mix Vicksburg, MI

Pinky is a delightful 1.5-year-old female dog (DOB 7/8/2023) on the hunt for her forever home! She is both house and crate-trained, and although she was born into the rescue and previously found a home, she's back with us through no fault of her own, which is a bit sad.

With a playful spirit, Pinky loves to play and interact with the energetic dogs in her foster home. She's learning to manage her resource-guarding tendencies with other dogs but is also great at recognizing when her more reserved friends need their space. Pinky enjoys running around and sniffing at the dog park, though she can be a little shy when meeting new people. Once she feels comfortable, though, her playful side comes out, and she's a bundle of joy!

Her foster mom believes Pinky would do well with kids but is unsure how she would be with cats. Since her behaviors are standard dog traits, she doesn't require an experienced husky owner. In her crate, Pinky is well-mannered and hasn't shown any desire to escape outdoors.

Pinky's personality is just so fun! She often "talks" to communicate her needs and is a true lovebug who adores cuddling, playing, and showering her humans with kisses. While she may be a bit timid around strangers initially, she warms up quickly. She's smart and has a lot of training potential; she's energetic yet enjoys some downtime with a nice bone to chew on.

Although she does display some resource guarding with other dogs, she is a sweetheart with humans. There are no special care requirements for Pinky. While she's never attempted to jump the fence, being cautious is a good idea since she has the skills to do so if she decides to.

Pinky would thrive best in an active family that keeps her engaged and provides plenty of chew toys. A dog sibling for playtime would be fantastic, though she could also be happy as the only dog. Ideally, her new family will be patient and ready to help with her training. Pinky already knows basic commands like sit, stay, and shake, and she even uses talking buttons for potty and treat requests! Isn't she impressive? We do require a home visit and a veterinarian reference. Please contact your veterinarian to give them permission to release information to us. Once we have reviewed your application and received a favorable reference from your veterinarian, our adoption coordinator will contact you.
