Hi I'm Pierce! Can you guess where my name came from? Yes, those stunning blue eyes! Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue was called about a dog that was running around in the canals. That was me. I wasn't easy to catch by any means, but they didn't give up and I'm so glad! It turned out that I had Parvo and would never have survived more than a few days out on my own. I'm healthy now and a happy, goofy puppy who loves everyone and am ready to join a forever family. My rescue has never seen a dog like me. They believe I'm part husky (those eyes) possibly mixed with Doberman, Shepherd or another larger breed. I'm estimated at around 8 months and am not recommended for small children simply due to my size (I may knock them over even though I mean no harm). Based on my paws, I'm going to be a big boy! My $450 adoption fee includes vet check, up to date shots, deworming, microchip (exc. registration) and neuter at one of my rescue's vets in Ft Myers. 1) Submit application 2) Application is reviewed for completeness and assigned to an adoption coordinator 3) Adoption coordinator verifies critical information on the application, contacts references and ensures that the requested animal is a good fit for the family 4) Adoption coordinator, in conjunction with rescue management, approves or denies application 5) Upon notification of approval, an adoption coordinator works with foster and adopter to set up an adoption appointment to bring your new family member home! We strive to work through adoption applications as soon as we can. We are 100% volunteer-based so it can take a day or two to complete the review. This also depends on the response time of your references. Should you change your mind or adopt a different animal after submission, please inform us so we do not spend unnecessary time on your application.
