Pico Chihuahua Rochester, NY

We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally, if fencing is required it must be a physical fence and in place at time of home visit.

REQUIREMENTS: live in the Rochester NY area (within 1/2 hr drive)

Pico is a 7 lb, 1 1/2 year old Chihuahua who is full of energy and lots of love. He loves other dogs that are his size and a bit bigger. Dogs that are a lot bigger he tends to not like (over 30lbs). He gets a long with his fosters two cats. He did want to play with cats in prior home (he was an owner surrender) but as long as he has another dog to play with, he doesn't bother the cats.
Pico definitely loves his people. He loves to cuddle and receive kisses. He loves sleeping under the blankets at night with his foster parents. His foster mom calls Pico "Cheeks" and she pinch his cheeks and give them lots of kisses. He does walk well on a leash and does not pull.
Pico will mark inappropriately so a belly band is used when inside the house (we expect neutering will improve this). He is UTD on his shots and is on Flea/Tick preventatives as well as Heart Worm.
He will be going to his adoptive home under a foster to adopt contract until his neuter is complete. You would be required to get him into our vet clinic once booked for 7:30 am, date TBD in Rochester and then pick up from rescue (3 to 4 pm) to finalize adoption at that time. For this reason we will not adopt to anyone outside our immediate adoption area. All our dogs have been spayed/neutered; treated for worms; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 mths or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchip; and examined by veterinarian and given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed.
