Pickles's Story

Meet Pickles!
Age: Senior
Weight: 60 lbs
Good with: dogs and kids (not cat tested)
House trained: yes
Crate trained: yes
Fostered in: Lake Geneva, WI

Are you looking for a gentle snuggle buddy that’s great with other dogs? Miss Pickles may be the gal for you! Also known by her foster family as “Mama Dilly”, Miss Pickles is a 60 pound Pit Bull mix who is the sweetest, most gentle-hearted lovebug you could imagine!

This beautiful girl gets along great with dogs of all sizes. She has not been tested with cats, but she seems to have a pretty strong prey drive, so we would not suggest kitties for her. She loves chewing on bones (and sometimes on shoes and blankets!), but her most favorite thing is snuggling on the couch with her human and doggy friends. She is potty trained and never has accidents in the house. She is fine with being crated and sleeps perfectly through the night.

Her life got off to a rough start down in Tennessee; she was kept outside on a chain in a small, wooden shack. While there, she sustained some damage to her left eye and developed a large mammary tumor. The kind folks at Animal Control took her into their care, and both her bum eye and tumor were removed. Unfortunately the tumor was deemed to be a moderate to higher grade mast cell tumor. Although metastasization in the future is a possibility, she currently is not experiencing any symptoms and is looking forward to living the rest of her life to its fullest!

If you give this lovely gal a second chance at life, you will not regret it - she will pay you back in gratitude, love, and snuggles!

Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs.

Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $300, ($550 for a pair). We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality and their needs.

Puppy - Under 6 months
Young Adult - 6 months to 2 years
Adult - 2 years to 8 years
Senior - 8 years to 12 years
Golden Oldie - 12+ years
