Meet Phil (ADOPTED!)

(PHIL HAS BEEN ADOPTED!) Pal's Place would love to introduce you to Phil, a large marshmallow of a dog! This sweet boy was rescued from an overburdened animal control facility in rural Kentucky. He appears to have some American Bulldog and maybe Dane or Greyhound in his family tree, but we cannot say for sure what his exact breed mix is. Phil is estimated to be between 2-3 years of age and weighs 75 pounds. We don't know what happened to this gentle and mild-mannered boy in the past, but it seems like he was handled roughly. He is timid with new people and cowers and shakes if fast moves are made around him. He also came to us with several old scars and several small fresh wounds on his body. Phil warms up quickly with just some kind words and gentle pats. Once he warms up, he's an extremely affectionate and loving pup. Because of his timid nature, we feel he'd do best in a more quiet home without very young children. His ideal guardians will help him work on his confidence and can give him all the time, love, and patience he needs to adjust to a new home and new people. Phil is generally mellow and laid-back and, despite his larger size, does not need a tremendous amount of exercise but does love to go for walks around the neighborhood and will engage in a short game of fetch. He is very well-behaved in the home, is crate-trained, and also housebroken. Phil is being fostered with several other dogs and gets along well with his canine companion. He is anxious for his happily ever after; please apply to meet him today!
