Pharrow Staffordshire Bull Terrier & Terrier Mix Phoenix, AZ

Pharrow has paid his dues. His past is heartbreaking and it has not been easy for him since he crossed our path. But all that is changing as Pharrow is currently recovering from surgery and has a stable environment that allows him to receive the love and attention he so very deserves. Pharrow is a senior dog. We estimate his age to be 8 or 9 years young. He has ended up at the County Shelter 5 times, the first time was because his dad of 6 years was deployed. The others range from wandering as a stray (twice) and owner turn ins for whatever reason. When Pharrow's tumors (all benign) began to burst and bleed out at the county shelter, his options had run dry. We are so grateful to the volunteers who went daily to visit and walk Pharrow while there. Once his medical issues became urgent and he was scheduled to be euthanized, we were frantically contacted to see if we might be able to help this sweet pooch. Once in our care, Pharrow had emergency surgery. All of his tumors were removed and he is recovering beautifully. But Pharrow will always have medical issues as he has horrible arthritis that needs to be managed daily and the Veterinarian believes some tumors may appear over time and will have to be monitored for possible removal. Here is what we know, Pharrow will go to a home that he is the only animal. He is wonderful with people and needs be with someone's everything. He is extremely loving, somewhat of a big baby that loves attention. He is a big boy, 90lbs, and likes to sit on the couch and place his melon head on the nearest lap. He is great in the car, is a very curious walker and loves to follow his people around. Pharrow is a companion and we have promised him that his golden years will be his best.
