Petra Chihuahua Mix Springfield, MO

Prickley retiree looking for a soft place to land! Loss can be very hard, and I have had many losses as of late. My name is Petra and I am an 8 year old, 13 pound Chihuahua mix who is ready for the next chapter of my life. To be honest, I need a hero who is willing to give me a space and a chance to recover! Having losses and a change in my environment has really thrown me off my game.
I am working on house breaking (I use puppy pads) and leash training. I do pretty well on a leash, but when I am outside I am usually looking for a small space that I can hide. As a nervous cautious type, I prefer no to be touched by people I don't know. Over time, I will be able to let down my guard and relax a bit. I don't hear very well, but if you will bend down low, I will come to you eventually. I do enjoy getting pets once I am more trusting and comfortable. I would prefer a home that is quiet and without kids where you are home most of the time because I really do enjoy company. Can you be that person who is willing to be patient and loving while I reclaim some of what I have lost? Underneath my prickliness, I do want to be loved and spoiled!

My adoption fee is $75 and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip!
