Hi there. My name is Petey. I am a male rat terrier that is about seven months old and I weigh just over seven pounds. I came to the rescue after the "PD" saved me. You see my family moved away and left me in an empty house. One day a nice policeman came by the house to check on it and I popped up and ran to him. I was so scared, hungry and grateful to see someone. He took me to the shelter, they called the rescue and the rest is history. Now it's time to find a family that wants me forever.
Would it surprise you to know when I came to the rescue I didn't know I was a dog? All I wanted was people to hold me and I screamed when I saw other dogs. Well, that has all changed! I found out how fun other dogs are and toys can be just awesome. I have learned to eat dry dog food; sounds strange but I didn't know what that was either. I have gotten a lot better at going outside to potty but sorry, I still hate the crate. I want to cuddle up to you for a nap or sleep with you if you let me. I am a still a puppy so you will have to help me improve my manners. I honestly just don't know what people want but I am willing to learn. I am a small growing guy and will not get much bigger so you must want a small fur child.
