**Heartworm Positive**

Petey was found running on the street and left unclaimed by it's owner. He is a handsome dog that had a severe flea allergy that caused some hair loss and has now been treated. He gets along well with other dogs but he is an ALPHA male, which means he will be the boss. He does not share food, toys, treats, anything of the sort so something to keep in mind. If there's another male in the home, if he is submissive and will allow Petey to be the boss all the time, it may be a good fit. Petey really does love other dogs, but as long as he's the boss. Petey walks on a leash well. He is Heartworm POSITIVE and has been started on the slow kill medications as well as monthly prevention. His adopter will need to continue his meds, and keep him on the monthly Heartworm Prevention for the rest of his life. He will need a secured fenced in yard for supervised exercise and playtime and the rest of the time, should be spent indoors. We are unsure about how he is around kids, a meet & greet with other dogs and all family members would be necessary. NO CATS for Petey.

Petey is current on basic vaccinations including Bordetella, been dewormed and is microchipped. He has tested POSITIVE for Heartworms.

Petey is already neutered and has received his current rabies.
