Hi, I'm Petey, an extremely sweet, calm and loving dog who loves being petted and having my belly rubbed. I was surrendered to an animal hospital when one of my owners died and made my way to SCP. I'm a senior (est. DOB 10/3/09) who weighs a little over 25 pounds. I’m very social and will follow you everywhere so I can be with you. I’m dog, cat and people of all sizes friendly. I am presently being crated and I may sing the lonesome dog crate blues when I’m put into a crate, but it’s my way of saying I don’t like being separated from you. I’ll need to have someone to let me out often and will go outside and do my business right away, but I won’t be able to “hold it” for long periods of time. My foster leaves the door cracked when I go out and I let myself back in, so I may do great with a doggy door. If you’re looking for a calm and affectionate companion, I’m your guy!

Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home.

The minimum donation for a dog is $175 (or $225 for puppies).

Adoptions are held on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Clear Lake Petco, 2410 Bay Area Boulevard. All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas. Since all of our dogs are in foster homes, an individual dog may not be at our weekly Adoption Event due to conflict with a foster's schedule.
