Pete Pit Bull Terrier Mix Palatine, IL

Talk about second chances. 20-month-old Pittie mix Pete was brought in to the vet to be euthanized after being hit by a car. His owners couldn’t afford the medical costs but SCCR recognized Pete’s irrepressible spirit and stepped in to handle the leg amputation and recovery process. And look at him now!

Pete’s not missing that fourth leg a bit. He runs (and counter-surfs) with the best of ‘em! He’s a goofy, playful guy with a perennial smile on his face. It seems he recognizes and is grateful for this second chance at life.

Pete is housebroken and crate-trained. He knows sit but will need training to overcome some of his highly energetic impulses. He gets along well with other dogs and loves nothing more than to chase after his ball. But he’s also enthusiastic about his cuddles and will be an excellent snuggle-buddy.
