Peta Brittany Spaniel & Shetland Sheepdog / Sheltie Mix Cincinnati, OH

Please give a warm welcome to Peta! She is estimated to be a one year old Sheltie/Brittany Spaniel mix and weighs approximately 22 pounds.

Upon arrival at HART, we learned that she was pregnant. She was given a warm and safe home to deliver and raise her puppies. Now that her puppies have been adopted, it is Peta’s turn to find her furever home.

She is a medium to high energy little girl and would love a home with either a playmate or an active family. Despite her small stature, she has a lot of spring in her bounce. So much so that she can jump a 4 ft fence and she does like to follow her nose and explore her surroundings. For this reason, it is recommended that her furever home have either a 6ft privacy fence or regular leash walks or a tie out. An electric fence may work but we cannot be sure as her current foster home does not have one.

Being a young pup herself, Peta would also benefit from basic training. She is very food motivated and so she would probably do very well in training. Peta currently lives in a low traffic home with other dogs of various sizes and sexes and does well with all of them.

She also ignores the resident cat. So if there are other pets in the home, she will do fine — always recommend slow and proper dog introductions to give the new family member time to decompress and adjust to her new surroundings and to give the resident dog time to adjust to a new sibling.

If there are other pets in the home, it is recommended that she be fed separately from other dogs because as mentioned she is very food motivated and may become aggressive if another dog invades her food bowl. She has never tried to bite her human around food. Peta truly is an absolute adorable bundle of joy!

She will welcome you home after a tiring day at work with the most animated wiggle butt you have seen. So be prepared to be bombarded with lots of love and attention!!

She adores her human family (kids and adults) and she openly expresses her unconditional love!! Then in the evening she will curl up next to you to enjoy some quiet downtime. So apply today to meet this sweet girl!

All HART dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vaccines, including bordatella and rabies. They are heartworm tested and on preventative for heartworm, fleas, and ticks.
