Peppermint's Story

Meet Peppermint! Peppermint is approximately 1-2 years old and thought to be a Jack Russell Terrier (mix?)

Peppermint was found as a stray and her family did not reclaim her. Because of this, we're not sure how she became lost or what her lift was like prior to being found, but we have promised her the best future we could possibly find her!

Peppermint was immediately sweet with us, and while we're still learning about her every day, we can tell you that she's going to make such a loving & loyal companion for someone! If you've owned JRTs before, you know they're filled with personality! They're known for their spunk, tenacity, drive, energy & loyalty! They'll cuddle up with you as quickly as they'd be willing to fight a bear for you.

In addition to those traits, JRTs can be incredibly easy & fun to train if you are an active & involved owner! Their drive allows them the brain power and willingness to please, perform and learn!

Because we don't know her history, it's unknown if Peppermint lived around other pets & children. That being said, we think she'll do well with most as long as everyone is properly introduced & supervised. We also don't know her potty training history, but she's doing a great job keeping her kennel clean at the shelter, so we think that utilizing a crate will help while she's learning the new potty schedule.

If you are a dog owner who enjoys being on the go, training with your dog, and you have an appreciation for the "Small & Mighty", Peppermint would love to meet you! We are doing all meet n' greets BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an adoption application has been generally approved:

https://monroecountydogshelter.com/apply-adopt.html

Peppermint will be spayed & fully vaccinated prior to adoption. Her adoption fee is $240.
