Meet Pepper (Senior)

Pepper is an 8-year old Lab mix who was recently rescued from a southern, high-kill shelter. She weighs approximately 65 lbs. Pepper was brought into the shelter by her owner who discarded her for having too many litters and then ultimately replaced her with a puppy. It seems that she was unwanted and unloved but things are about to change for this super polite, even-tempered girl. The shelter workers describe Pepper as incredibly sweet, pleasant and easy to have by your side. Pepper earned high marks in easily making new doggy friends (different sized, breeds, personalities, male and female). Pepper is not clingy/needy and is not one to kiss on the first date. As can be seen in her video, Pepper has a 3/4 length tail. According to her current foster mom in SC: "Pepper walks GREAT on a leash - no pulling at all. My impression of Pepper is she would be great for a senior, or for a family. She does get along with other pets. I think she's an older girl that would easily adjust to a household and make her owner very happy. Since sudden movements and small yappy dogs don't phase her, she would likely be good with kids. She loves any attention she gets."
Pepper has already been spayed and micro-chipped. She is up-to-date with vaccinations and she has recently been treated for heart-worm disease. She is well past the "limited activity" recovery period and she is ready to move along to the "happily-ever-after" part of her life. Pepper's suggested adoption donation is $300 to help with the rescue's ongoing and ever-increasing vet bills. Even though Pepper will not be arriving on transport until July 17th, we are happy to receive applications for her NOW. We would love to get someone totally approved for Pepper to ensure that she has a home to go to when she gets here. Please ask about our very popular "Foster-to-Adopt Program". You can apply to foster, or to adopt, Pepper by visiting our website at OneLifeToLiveRescue.com and filling out our online application. A rescue volunteer will then be in touch with you to answer any questions that you might have. Thank you for considering a wonderful, rescued, senior Lab mix.
Pepper has been adopted right off of transport. She had her new "mom" waiting for her when she arrived and she went home to begin the "happily-ever-after" part of her life in Narvon, PA!!
