Meet Penny Urgent
Sweet Penny was placed in a temporary urgent foster home, so we could save her from euthanasia at a local shelter.
Only days earlier, she had found herself at the county shelter, through no fault if her own. Due to overcrowding, the shelter put this sweet pup, along with many other perfectly healthy pets, on the euthanasia list. We scrambled, found a very temporary foster,so our rescue group could get her out of the shelter and into a safe place.
We now have to find a longer term foster, or adopter ASAP!
Penny is a young cutie pie, with the gorgeous reddish/golden velvety coat, is about 3 yrs old and weighs about 60lbs!
Penny was in a temporary foster home with another pup, Hershey who came from the same shelter and she was great with Hershey.
A note from the current foster mom:
"I am so glad we saved these two because they truly are amazing.
Penny is such a sweetheart, who just loves to be by your side and will give you all the sweet cuddles. She will come over to you and just put her head on your lap.
Penny loves to go on walks and does very well."
It looks like Penny has some separation anxiety, who knows what she has been through in her short life. So she is a little uncertain and cautious at first. Foster mom is helping to work on her separation anxiety. Penny does well if she is in the same room with you, but if you try to put her in another room, or lock her in her crate, she gets very anxious. Otherwise, she is pretty quiet and laid back!!
We don’t know exactly what Penny has had to go through and what she has overcome, but she is such a strong, beautiful girl!
Penny knows how to sit, lay down, give her paw, and much more. She will be an amazing addition to someone’s family. She is dog friendly, but sadly NO cats.
These precious pups have had a rough start to their lives and let down badly by humans. Penny, like so many others, needs time, patience and most of all, a warm and loving home.
