Penny Labrador Retriever & American Staffordshire Terrier Mix League City, TX

Hi, I’m Penny, a gorgeous, smart 40 pound lab/American Staffordshire Terrier mix. I’m looking for a family willing to smother me with hugs and kisses and love. My foster says she’s fostered over a dozen dogs and I’m the most affectionate one she’s ever had. I was found in a box on the street as a puppy and a family took me in but couldn’t keep me. The second family who took me for a while is moving and can’t take me with them, so here I am again, hoping that three’s a charm. My estimated DOB is 3/9/2016 so I’m at that perfect age – young but over the puppy stage. I’m happy to be a couch potato cuddlebug, hang out with my family or go on a hiking adventure. I love my walks and am learning how not to pull when I see a squirrel or find a great smell. I haven’t had an accident in the house at my foster’s, but she takes me out often. I’m dog friendly but I get excited when I first meet a dog and forget my manners and will bark and growl, but once I get a sniff all I want to do is play. There aren’t any cats or kids at my foster’s but my previous owner said I was OK with both with the proper introductions. I’m using a crate now with no problems as long as I get my hugs and kisses before settling in. I’m a great watchdog and will let you know when a stranger is around. I bark and growl but will stop as soon as my people tell me it’s OK. If you are looking for a affectionate and protective new best friend, I’m your girl.

Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home.

Adoption fee for this dog is $175.

Adoptions are held on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Clear Lake Petco, 2410 Bay Area Boulevard. All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas. Since all of our dogs are in foster homes, an individual dog may not be at our weekly Adoption Event due to conflict with a foster's schedule.
