DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Say Hi to Penelope! She is a sweet young girl who is full of life, always ready to play and explore. She is very smart and knows lots of basic commands such as sit, stay, down, come, wait, leave it, and place/crate. Not only is she smart, she is also well mannered, good on leash, house and crate trained, and will wait quietly for her food. She loves making friends, and does well out in public meeting people and new dogs. However, she may need some supervision when playing with other dogs, as she can get excited and may play a bit too rough. She also would do better with older kids who understand how to interact with dogs. Penelope can be sensitive to handling (especially her feet and belly) and will need someone who is patient and can understand her fears. But, with time, patience and lots of love, Penelope will learn to trust and she will make a wonderful companion for an active family or adopter. So, why not fill out an application today and give this beautiful girl a chance to have the loving forever home she deserves!
Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.
