Since TAGS is a smaller volunteer program, we are limited to facilitating adoptions only within Durham Region in Ontario. We encourage those applicants who apply out of area to check your local shelters and rescue programs. We are always happy to refer you to a program in your area.

Hi! My name is Penelope, but most people call me Penny. I travelled all the way from Manitoba to Ontario. It was a long journey and my first time on a plane, but I made it! It’s hard to believe I’m still searching for my furever home but here I am.

Not to brag but I am fully house-trained, crate trained, and I walk well with a gentle leader. Sometimes I can be reactive to other dogs when I’m on leash but with enough space and plenty of treats, I quickly forget they’re there. I love life, exploring the neighbourhood, and going for car rides. If you’re looking for a road trip companion, I’m your gal!

I can be selective about which dogs I want to play with, so proper introductions are a must when meeting potential new playmates. I’m a smart girl who learns new commands quickly, especially when treats are involved ?. My recall is spot-on - if you call, I’m coming! I’m eager to please and showing my people what a good girl I am. I’m searching for the family I always wanted but never had. Life is just better when shared with someone else ?

I dream of finding a family who will shower me with lots of love and have a big backyard for me to run around in. I want all the attention to myself, so I need to be the only dog.
