Meet Peggy Sue

Meet Peggy Sue!

She is in NW Indiana with a foster family in Dyer, IN.

In new situations she is initially timid and unsure. But once she is comfortable she warms up and is a joy. She is a snuggle bug, does fine with kids, other small dogs, and other people. She sleeps all night in bed with her foster parents. She’s a happy little licker!
Her foster has a 3 and 6 yr old. Listen to the 6 year old tell you about Peggy Sue: https://youtu.be/9aRgdjUaJYk

Origin Story:
One of our rescue partners in Texas received a call about dogs that had been left in an apartment when the tenants moved out. They were found when the cleaning company came in to clean. The place was filthy and covered in urine and feces. The dogs had no food or water. The cleaning company left the door open to air out the unit. By the time the rescue lady got there all the other dogs except Miss Peggy Sue had escaped. She was the only one remaining.

She is guessed to be about 6 months and currently 14lbs. Her spay is scheduled for next week in Cedar Lake, IN. Adopter must be willing to travel to our partner vet for spay.

Adoption Process:

- please fill out our adoption application: https://www.dayofthedogs.org/adoption-application

- one of our team members will get back to you.

- our dogs can be seen by appointment only after an approved application has been received.

- Adoption fee helps to cover spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, initial worming, and microchip.

-We cannot place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt.

NOTE: We are very good about updating the pet's profiles once adopted. So no need to write us to ask "Is he/she still available?" If the post is up, the dog is still available.
