Pebbles's Story

Who says you can’t find purebred dogs in rescue?! Meet Pebbles, a charismatic 8-year-old, 20lb, Wire Fox Terrier looking for her new forever family! True to her breed, Pebbles likes to stay active! She enjoys going for walks, playing with water out of a hose, chewing on her stuffies, and jumping up high in place when she’s waiting for dinner. She is playful with her foster siblings but also does well playing alone with a bone or toy. A good game of fetch will bring her a lot of happiness too! She has been sweet with all adults she has met and she was very respectful of the older children she has been around. When she wants to cuddle, she sometimes forgets about personal space and will lay straight across your chest like a limp noodle!

As a Wire Fox Terrier, Pebbles will need planned grooming appointments throughout the year. Additionally, Pebbles has atopy, which is a skin issue where environmental allergens like dust and pollen cause her skin to be inflamed. A small dose of daily prednisone keeps her skin under control, and the prednisone is quite affordable (~$2.50 a month for a 30-day supply). She is currently eating a kibble that is designed for dogs that need skin support. Pebbles is spayed and up-to-date on vaccines (Rabies, DHPP, and bordatella) as well so now she is all set for her new home.

The perfect home for Pebbles would include an active new best friend! While a fenced-in backyard is ideal, Pebbles could adapt to apartment living if her days included plenty of walks or hikes.

She is not destructive or a concern while we are away, so does not need to be crated. She does appreciate the comfort of her crate when it is left open.

A home where the cost of her grooming appointments, prednisone, and healthy food can be covered is a must. Pebbles was abandoned at the shelter so her new family must be committed to giving her the best second chance at life possible!

If you would like to meet Pebbles, please fill out an adoption application at www.tucsoncoldwetnoses.com

Pebbles is adoptable to homes in Tucson, Marana, Oro Valley, Catalina and Sahuarita only. Her adoption fee is $275, plus a $21 licensing fee to PACC.
