Pebble Retriever Mix Palatine, IL

I, Pebble, am wise beyond my years. I’m an approximately 8-year-old Retriever/Husky mix weighing 45 pounds. Having had to fend for myself and scavenge for food has given me a different perspective on life. I’m grateful for all the simple comforts.

So far, life in my foster home is sweet! I have an orthopedic dog bed that is very comfy and a regular supply of food and even these things called jerky treats (LOVE THEM). In order to show my appreciation, I never potty in the house (I pant and get frantic when I have to go, because I don't want to muss the house). I know sit and down. Secretly I even like my crate because it makes me feel like I belong. I also enjoy walks and though I occasionally pull, I am overall good on leash and great in the car. Yeah, life is good.

Now, I don't want to make all kinds of demands on a new family, but I do have one hard and fast rule: no cats! Dogs are fine as long as they are mellow like me. Because of my thick fur, I love water and snow, and really enjoy being brushed. I also like attention, but don't worry, I'm not the "needy" type.

Now I’m searching for a family of my own. I don’t really know how this works, but I hope you’ll come meet me this Saturday. I trust you’ll see how sweet and devoted I am. I’ll be watching for you!

If we do not receive any communication from you, the dog may be adopted out at our event prior to 12 pm if the perfect home comes along. :-)

However, visual breed identification is unreliable. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog’s individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess. Dogs are individuals.
