Meet Pumpkin~Possible ESD

Meet Pumpkin!

My name is Pumpkin and I am a GSD from South Carolina. I am around 5 years old.

Picked up off the street, and starving, I was brought to a shelter. I am the sweetest of sweet! I am super loving to my humans and I also sit right between their legs! I am very big on eye contact as well!

*PUPDATE~Pumpkin was adopted out 2.5 years ago to a super loving family. She has been very loved and well cared for. Her family has taught her so many things including sit, lay down, stay, break, (aka stop what you're doing) and crate. Of course she is potty trained as well!

Pumpkin is great with other dogs, but does herd them a bit out in the yard! Her doggie sibling deals with it and is very patient and kind with her! She has plenty of energy to run around and has a great time doing so! But when the fun is over, she is very happy to just chill!

Pumpkin adores the car and will go anywhere!

Being a true lover of humans, Pumpkin has been nicknamed "Velco" as she loves to be her human mom's shadow! She has lived with children the whole time and has done fine with the older ones, 8 +. The younger ones 3 ish, seem to make Pumpkin a little nervous or jumpy. With some other difficult issues going on at home, it's getting tough to make sure everyone is behaving themselves. So with great sadness, the family feels it is best to find another family for Pumpkin.

ABOUT OUR RESCUE DOGS:
All of our dogs are located in Connecticut, are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, have been given deworming medications, and have had CT State health checks, & go home with a leash, collar, & packet of medical paperwork.

BREED IDENTIFICATION:
Please understand that many rescue dogs are mixes of multiple breeds. Petfinder allows us to choose up to two breeds per dog. While the shelters and our rescue do our best in accurately identifying breeds, breed identification is not guaranteed. If there is a certain breed that you do not want, it is very important that you share this with our rescue when applying. When adopting a puppy, breed uncertainty plays a big part in the size/look of the dog as an adult. Please know that any puppy can be a wonderful dog, regardless of preconceived notions of certain breeds, but it is very important that the adopter has the dedication and patience to raise the puppy with boundaries, consistency, structure, & love. The more effort you give towards training & time you allow for exercise, your puppy will grow to be a HUGE source of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, TOTAL LOYALTY, HAPPINESS, COMFORT & COMPANIONSHIP!

ABOUT OUR RESCUE:
We are a small rescue run by volunteers & focused on finding the right match for both our dogs & for you. If you are interested in adopting through our rescue, you first will need to complete an adoption application & be approved as a potential adopter before meeting any of our pups. No need to be intimidated by our application as it allows us to get to know you & your lifestyle. Of course, the more you can share the better! Please also note, while a fenced yard is fantastic, it is not required by our rescue, however, it may be required for a certain dog occasionally. Once adoption applicants are approved to become potential adopters, we offer private appointments where you can meet one or several dogs at the discretion of the rescue. We offer a unique & pleasant experience focused on finding the perfect match. It is extremely important to us that everyone is treated with respect & that NO ONE IS LEFT HANGING. WE WILL GET BACK TO YOU WITHIN 2 TO 3 DAYS of application submission. If there is a dog you are eager to meet, please TEXT US DIRECTLY at 203-241-2351 so that we can check the status of your application and move it forward immediately. We look forward to hearing from you and helping you find your new best friend.

*All adult dogs can be cat tested by request.

HOME/RENTER INSURANCE:
SOME PROVIDERS HAVE VERY STRICT POLICIES REGARDING WHICH TYPE OF DOG BREEDS ARE ALLOWED UNDER THEIR COVERAGE. STATE FARM WAS SUGGESTED TO US AS THEY DO NOT PUNISH, DROP, NOR REFUSE YOU DUE TO DOG BREED SHOULD YOU RUN INTO ISSUES WITH YOUR CURRENT PROVIDER.
