Patron is about 10 months old. He has been in his current foster family since Valentine’s Day of this year and is really doing great. He currently lives with a pack of 4 other dogs (1 male, 3 females), 2 human kids (9 and 6), and his momma. Since coming to his foster family they have been working really hard with Patron on using good manners. He knows: sit, lay down, off, shake, wait (when eating), in (for the crate), and sometimes stay. He is super gentle when taking treats and really loves to please his people. He is also incredibly smart, but can be strong willed. He has learned how to live and play with his current pack, and does well with social cues from the older dogs. He’s all boy, and loves to play rough, but also loves to snuggle up on the couch with his friends and people. He hates the crate, but does know “in” and will follow that command as long as you reward him with a biscuit ? He cries for about 15 minutes when you first put him in, but he quickly settles in for the night. He also recently started sleeping on the bed at night, and does great with that too. He is potty trained and has not had any accidents in the house so far. He loves to go on walks and does so good while we are out; he typically walks with 2 of his older sisters (a husky shepherd mix and an Am Staff), and does not pull or act crazy. Patron needs a strong leader who will continue working with him on a daily basis, especially through life’s new challenges (he hates the vacuum cleaner). He would also do great with another dog, one who has already established his/her place in the pack and will help Patron continue to learn “the ways of the world.”
We recommend a home with children ages 10+. Must have a fenced in yard. A meet and greet with an applicant’s resident dog(s) would be required.
