If we didn’t know better, we’d say Patch must have starred on the Cartoon Network. He has such quirky and silly ways that are very entertaining. He gallops like a horse and snorts like a piglet!

Patch is a 4-year old, 70-pound male Dalmatian / Pointer mix who’s being cared for at the Attleboro, MA animal shelter. He is a curious fella who loves to sniff and explore, making him the best detective in town. Give Patch the chance he deserves and in return he will give you years of fun, love, and devotion.
You must know that Patch has hit hard times. He is desperately seeking a committed family after being bounced around. He's tired of packing his bones and moving around. Change has caused him to be fearful and insecure. As a result, Patch can become over-protective of his main person but his responses are not done out of aggression, though the mounting confusion has gotten his chi out of whack.

Luckily, Patch responds well to training. He’s not really treat-motivated, but he gets over-the-moon excited when he hears any praise. "Aww, whatta good boy" or "atta boy" or “who’s a nice dog?” His love for attention and human admiration will come in handy to overcome his issues.

The person to help Patch succeed must be as committed to him as he will be to them. That commitment means training. He needs a positive training approach that will prepare him and his new family to manage his uncertainty and gain the confidence he desperately needs.

His main training goals are twofold. He needs to learn how to appropriately share his favorite person without growling and getting upset at others. He also needs help tolerating other dogs. He doesn’t have to love other fur kids, but he needs to be respectful and not bite.

Patch is a special needs dog with behavior challenges but he is so much more than that. Patch needs to be the only “child” both two- and four-legged, but we're sure you'll agree that this goofy cartoon-like dog is plenty fun for your one and only.
