Parker Shih Tzu South Charleston, OH

Parker is a mellow, 10-year-old, 15-lb, male Shih Tzu. His date of birth is 3/27/11. He was surrendered by a Florida breeder and has been in a foster home since 6/14/21. During that time he has been fully vetted; neutered, dental, heartworm and fecal tested (results negative), vaccinated, and microchipped. He is also current on heartworm/flea/tick preventative. Parker is blind in his right eye and needs eye drops administered to both eyes a couple times a day.

Parker would be a great companion for an older couple. If he had to pick just one human to be with, he seems to prefer women. Parker gets along fine with the three dogs and two cats in his foster home. Nothing seems to bother this sweetie! He sleeps a great deal of the day and just loves being part of the family. He will move from a bed in the living room to a bed in the den when his foster dad needs to work on the computer.

Parker is housebroken if kept on a regular schedule. He will use a doggie door to go out to do his business. He will also use pee pads in a known location with a little training. Parker needs a fenced-in yard as he is likely to go for an "extended run" if he gets loose in an unfenced area.

Walking on a leash is still new to Parker so he will need an owner willing to work with him on leash training. Parker does great in the car and has never gotten car sick. He is used to being free-fed and spending the night on a bed in his foster parents' bedroom.

Parker has a lot of love to give and he is ready for a loving forever home! If you are looking for a sweet guy, Parker may be the new family member you are looking for!
