Meet Parker

Check out the little 13 week old (as of 5-31-12) dude, Parker! Could this pit bull type dog be any more adorable? No? Well, read on! Parker is on the hunt for some parents to call his own.

Mr. Parker and his litter mates were born to Mama Maya who was rescued from an owner surrender. Had Mama Maya not been saved--he and his litter mates would not be here today, catching everyone's eye. He's extremely sweet, but will need an adopter who is experienced in raising a dog from puppyhood, who can show him the ropes and provide consistent and patient, positive training. It will build his confidence and help him build a solid foundation of good manners and behaviors.

The great thing about adopting a pup from their BAPBR Pit Stop is that they work on their training from the start--so Parker already knows sit, come and "in" (to go in his crate, where he sleeps at night contentedly and without whining). He's also working on house training and walking nicely on a leash. He will need to continue his training with his future family, since he is just a wee lad--but this will be a snap with training classes, treats and well-prepared parents!

Parker's favorite things are his people, playing with his squeaky and tug toys and sunbathing!

Parker's ideal home would include loving, patient adults and respectful children (he is very gentle with kids), another dog or two and a cat friend would be fine, as well. He is ready to experience the world and soak in all the learning ahead of her--are you ready for cuteness overload? Contact us today to start the process of bringing playful Parker into your life!

If you are interested in meeting Parker, please fill out the application with as much detail as possible. THE ADOPTION APPLICATION (CLICK HERE)

Once we have received your application, we will call you within 24 hours to go over your application and to set up a meet and greet. If you have any other questions, you can call Angela @ 503-888-4583.

Adoption fee is $300. The adoption fee includes: altering, AVID microchip and registration (a $20 value), initial vaccines, copy of medical vet records/history, dewormed, small bag of kibble, and plenty of post adoption support.

BAPBR adoption guidelines:

Same-sex adoptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis, though not preferred.

Indoor homes only - we do not adopt out "outdoor" dogs or "guard" dogs.

Please note that adoption applicants must own their own home. A BAPBR representative will conduct a home check. There will be no exceptions made to this rule, due to the frequent restrictions on apartments, and rental homes.

Didn't find the right match at BABPR? We are continuously working with many other animal shelters and rescues and are usually able to help connect you to another dog that may be a better fit for your family. Please email us at Info@BAPBR.org so that we might be able to assist you--our ultimate goal is to make sure all dogs find loving homes, no matter where they currently reside.

I am looking for a leader who will keep up my training, and always show me boundaries and consistency. This will ensure that I keep giving my breed a good name. Our personalities are energetic, loyal, intelligent, fun loving, and affectionate. We require intelligent, responsible, and dedicated leadership. Because of our undeserved negative media image, human companions living with Pit Bull Terrier type dogs have to be more careful and responsible than the average human dog companion.
