Life is sure stressful, isn’t it? How about a buddy who exudes calm and happy tendencies? Maybe some cuddles for good measure? Then I’m your girl!!

My name is Parcheesi (aka Cheesi, The Cheese, and Princess Parcheesi). I love nothing more than to see you walk through the door at the end of a day and shower you with my love! I will wag my 34-pound self and use everything I’ve learned in my 3 years to make you know how happy I am to see you!

While I’m still a little bit shy in new situations, I quickly warm up once I feel safe. Walks and adventures are basically the best, and I do really well in the car for trips! You have other dogs? That’s ok! I don’t like to roughhouse a whole lot, and if they’re in my face I may tell them I’m not happy about it. I don’t mind some gentle play now and then, but mostly I want to make my humans happy with me.

I am very gentle when looking for attention, but I am working on learning to not put my paws on people every time I meet them.

Foster dad is still working with me on basic commands like “sit” and “stay,” but he says I learn better when there are treats involved! I haven’t met any cats yet, but I if I do I will be sure to update you here! I am really good in public dog-friendly stores, and it’s fun getting to meet new people when I’m out.

Oh, you noticed my goofy ear? It’s forever standing up! Adds to my personality, and I love it! Anyhow, enough about me, come meet me at ODHS and you can tell me all about you! See ya soon!

What breed am I? Mixed mutt! ODHS does not breed label (unless there’s official paperwork), as studies show it is nearly impossible to tell the exact breed of each dog based off of their appearance.

Adoption Donations are $275 for an adult, $375 for puppies (a dog under one year of age), and $175 for a senior dog (based on the age of the dog). Adoption donations are to be made via cash, check, and credit/debit card. There is a $5 fee to run cards.

Please remember to bring a collar and leash (non-retractable) with you the day of the adoption. Note: Martingale collars and slip leads are strongly recommended.

We typically have adoption events on Wednesday evenings and on Saturday afternoons. There are times on Thursday evenings, that our events will be by appointment only, so be sure to check our Facebook page for a notice or contact us prior to making the trip. Our adoption center is located at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Suite 101, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. It's important that you keep an eye on your emails for any changes or updates during the adoption process.
