Meet Palmer - a 9 year old, 70 pound, Treeing Walker Coonhound mix boy.
Palmer has been in rescue for a while now. This boy came from a South Carolina shelter and came into rescue with heart worm. So he has been here being treated and now is fully to the other side - and is ready for a family to love!!
His foster shares "Palmer is so cool! At first he’s kind of subdued, but as soon as he feels comfortable (which doesn’t take long), you see this adorable personality come out. It comes out with the dogs and with people - he becomes playful, fun, and frisky. Honestly he is just an awesome boy! He loves to play with the dogs - he will keep play bowing until he can engage someone else to play with them and he likes starting a game of chase. This is a very cool and sweet dog who is laid
back yet has an adorable personality and playfulness to him - especially for his age."
Parker seems fully housebroken. He had a few accidents when he came to us and then settled in quickly. So we guess it might be the same in his future home. In terms the dogs in rescue he has been around at least 40 dogs of all ages and sizes and just loves them all. He hasn't been around kids or cats. With kids we guess he might do well because of his personality and fun nature. And because he seems to great everyone with happiness!
He does well in his crate when home and then is trustworthy loose when his foster is home.
All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption.
To adopt or learn more about Parker, you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $425]
** PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
