Meet Paige

Meet Paige! Paige is a very sweet ole girl. Paige came in with her brother Bailey. Before coming to GLWR she and Bailey were required to live in the basement of the house as the owner's spouse did not like large dogs and did not want them upstairs in the family area with her little dogs. They rarely got attention being only let out for potty breaks and missed having human contact. When she decided that they had to go they were going to be sent to the local dog pound. That is when a relative of the owner stepped in to help them. They were moved to the in-laws unheated pole barn and placed in a make shift pen on cement and given a few weeks for her to find a solution other than the animal pound. You see, they were not really welcome or wanted there either. The relative contacted GLWR and, of course, we stepped right up to help these two lost souls. Paige and Bailey have been together for several years and ideally we would love to have them stay together but in the right environment they will do okay separated from each other as well.

Paige is a quiet, gentle soul that is looking for a home that will provide comfort and love for her in her golden years. She is happy just to lay in the sunshine or on a soft spot on the couch or in the easy chair. Paige is a very passive girl and loves everyone and everything. She is wonderful with children and other dogs. She got a pooh bear for Christmas and just loves to "nook" on it daily . She listens very well and has great recall preferring to stay close to her humans. reccall. Paige can free roam around the house no problems. Paige also does well with basic commands and is responsive. While she has no major known health issues she is in her senior years and is not as pry as she used to be. If you think you could open your heart and home to paige (perhaps with bailey) we would love to hear from you. With Paige your payback for being adopted by this senior girl will be tenfold in companionship and unconditional love.

Great Lakes Weimaraner Rescue is an all volunteer, nonprofit group whose primary mission is to help with the rescue and placement of Weims in the Great Lakes region; including Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Ontario.

GLWR is headquartered in Michigan with a network of foster homes in our State & Country Chapters. We do not have a shelter that is open for the public to visit. All applicants must be approved before meeting any dog in our foster network.

GLWR does not ship dogs, but if you are willing to travel to meet one of our dogs fostered in one of our Satellite Chapters, then you are welcome to apply for adoption. All dogs not listed as being fostered in a specific State or Country Chapter, are fostered in Michigan.
