Meet Ozzy

Meet our fabulously handsome lab/terrier mix, Ozzy! We’ve known Ozzy for a while. He originally came to us in 2017 on a transport from Texas and was adopted locally. Unfortunately, not all matches work out the way we hope. Sometimes it’s a change in living situations, sometimes it’s because one animal doesn’t get along with others well. In Ozzy’s case, it was both. He had a difficult time adjusting in one situation and his animal housemate wasn't nice to him in the other. Coming back to us hasn’t gotten him down. Ozzy is always on the lookout for a new human friend! He happily accepts pets, especially when he is getting a good back scratch. We hope you have strong arms! He’ll lean right into you and let you love on him until you tire out.
Ozzy is looking for a home where he will be the only dog. He does not do well with them when they are in his space. We have conducted introductions with other dogs on leash with him, and he will react- however, if we have treats, he will very quickly switch his focus to us and remain in a sit. Ozzy is not a dog who can be off-leash with another dog. He'd be a great candidate for a fenced in yard.
Ozzy is extremely food motivated and has a hearty appetite. Ozzy does experience kennel anxiety, and he will pace in his kennel because of this. We are working diligently to keep him at a healthy weight. He currently is residing in our kitchen, and he does extremely well there. He loves our company, and spends his time snoozing on his bed while we're near. He is very quiet, and being out of the kennels has been very beneficial for him.
As Ozzy has been bounced around a bit, we’re looking for a stable home that he will be able to call his own forever. We think he’d make for an awesome family dog. Keeping his size in mind, we feel he would do well in a home with older children. He is not aggressive in the least but we wouldn’t want him to accidentally knock a little one over. Ozzy wants your love all to himself. He needs to go to a home that doesn’t already have a resident dog. We love Ozzy and think you will too. Don’t miss out on meeting this funny pup!
