Otis Irish Wolfhound & Poodle Mix Upper Sandusky, OH

Otis is a male Wolfhound/Poodle mix who is around 3 years old. He was brought to the shelter because he was not doing well health wise in his former home. Otis had been kept as a outdoor dog before his arrival to the shelter, so he is working on his house-training/leash walking skills. Otis's hair and skin was not in the best shape upon arrival, but he has since been given antibiotics and flea preventive, which seems to be helping. Otis will need someone who will be willing to work with him on learning how to adjust to inside living, as well as understanding he may have some skin issues throughout his lifetime. Otis has not been around small children, cats, or other dogs so we do not know how he will be with them.
**Edit** Otis has been around other dogs a couple of times now and it would appear he would do better in a home without other animals.**

***Our adoption process is done in two steps . Your first trip to the shelter will include visiting with the animal and if you choose to do an adoption, all the paperwork will be completed at this time and the adoption will be paid for. The second trip will be to pick the animal up once it is spayed or neutered, micro chipped etc and ready to go home. All of our animals are spayed/neutered BEFORE they leave the shelter. Because of our strict return policy if an adopter cannot keep an adopted pet, adoptions to homes more than 100 miles away will be considered on a case by case basis.
