Oslo is a forty-pound one-year-old blue heeler from Georgia. Oslo is very smart – housetrained, doing great with crate training, and has mastered “sit”, “lay down” and “shake”. He has been respectful of the two kitties he’s been rooming with, and thoroughly enjoys playing with and meeting other dogs. He loves a good antler or chew toy, and unstuffed durable plushies. Oslo is also fond of our two kiddos – loves frolicking outside with them as much as he does snuggling with them on the sofa.
Being the Australian cattle dog that he is, he needs adequate exercise and mental stimulation. Olso settles nicely, but needs a good hike in the woods, challenge in the yard, or jog to achieve his snuggly state. Oslo is a medium-energy dog. He walks well on a leash with some pulling (we are currently using a harness). He would make for a great jogging buddy. Though he is indifferent to our cats, he finds squirrels and bunnies very exciting.
Oslo does great on car rides, but needs some coaxing to hop inside, which is completely understandable given his extensive journey from the south!
Oslo is friendly to all he meets, and would likely enjoy having a canine buddy. His best furfriend is a female corgi/Jack Russell/hound mix. Oslo loves belly rubs and he is so stinkin’ cute (those ears!).
Oslo’s adopters should be familiar with the breed, active & outdoorsy, and enthusiastic about nurturing his active mind. Kids 10+ would be the best fit; although Oslo has been incredibly well-behaved, he is an ACD and occasionally does what we call “nippy-doos” – little nibbles on ankles or knees to get your attention. Couch potatoes need not apply.
Oslo is located in Honeoye Falls, NY. For questions, please contact alisonzerojones@gmail.com.
