Please note that because all of our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be about an hour of Wilmington, DE in order for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in person home visit.

These are but a few of the adorable attributes of this little 15 lb. Shih Tzu who has easily tucked himself into his foster home with a resident cat and comparable sized dog, with everyone getting along quite well.
Oscar, estimated at 8-10 years old, came to us fresh from a shelter after he was separated from his former clan. He quickly adapted and is eager to please, following us around the house. He loves the kitchen as well, being first in line at dinner time, also racing to be first on leash. Whenever left alone he grabs a few winks but as soon as a human appears, he jumps to attention for whatever is next to do.
On walks he is friendly, and eager with others, including children. When he sees squirrels or cats he ignores them. Other dogs rarely raise any attention.
When in the car he likes to sit on a lap but will rest on a rear seat if instructed.
Oscar is mostly housebroken but requires frequent trips outside.
If you are looking for a constant companion, Oscar fits the bill.
On a cuteness scale Oscar gets a 10.
In all Oscar wants to be with his human(s), including after dark, sleeping in your bed.
