OSCAR Parson Russell Terrier & Jack Russell Terrier Mix Phoenix, AZ

Oscar is a 16-pound, ten-year-old Parson Russell Terrier mix and he is quite the rascal. He is all smiles, with giant radar ears, and you cannot wait to get your hands on this little tail-wagging low rider. However, Oscar has other ideas. He has some trust issues and he does not want just anyone up in his business. Oscar is a return to Home Fur Good, and HFG is committed to making sure his next home is a forever home. HFG knows that a home for Oscar will need to be one with experienced dog owners and no small children. Oscar is tolerant of other dogs and cats; he just does not want a lot of friends in his inner circle. HFG found it hard to say if Oscar has a type; he likes men and women both older and younger, and he dislikes men and women both older and younger. Oscar could be snuggling with you one moment and biting the next, and then suddenly look at you, wondering what had just happened. George, owner and trainer at Couth Canine, agreed to take Oscar into board-and-train. At ten years old, George realized, Oscar has had years to hone his undesirable skills. George has worked with Oscar to walk nicely on a leash, to sit, down, stay, and place. George created a framework to teach Oscar not to bite and how to take corrections appropriately. The new family will need to commit to meeting Oscar and working with George to make sure the fit is one that will last.
