Orla Shepherd Mix Scranton, PA

Orla is a pretty girl, listed as a shepherd mix, who was recently rescued from the "priority list" at a high kill shelter. She will be available for adoption, or foster, on Sunday Nov. 8th and we are accepting applications for her now. She is approximately 2-3 years of age and she weighs about 50 lbs.
The meaning of the name ORLA is "golden princess" and this girl is exactly that! She is a lovely shade of tan with what we call .. black frosting. She is SUCH a good girl and guaranteed, she will have you at "hello".
This mid-sized gal is truly a friend to all. Equally as pleased to hang out with other dogs as she is humans, Orla is YOUR pick if you have kids at home looking for a 4 legged companion who loves snuggling, nuzzling and just being by your side. She is polite and easy to manage. Orla is a sweetheart who will softly seek you out for attention and will reward you with a broad grin and nicely swiveling hips. Graced with just a bit of playfulness, during her walk with 2 other dogs, she was having such fun and at such ease, that she suddenly decided it was time to roll around on her back hoping to get a few belly rubs. And yes, her ploy worked! The belly was rubbed and scratched. She also enjoys bowing down to play with other dogs and was very gracious and well mannered in meeting the other dogs on her walk. We are unsure as to how Orla would do with cats right now. So caution would need to be exercised in any home with kitty friends. Orla is not just a "good dog", she is a great dog. Orla has already been spayed and she is up-to-date with vaccinations and preventatives, too. She has recently been treated for heart-worm disease and is past her "restricted activity" recovery period.
