Dear human, I’m Orion!
I’m a little dog from Indonesia. My mom and I were rescued from the dog meat trade. I was cared for then brought to Canada by Humane Society International / Canada.

I’ve learned a lot since I came to Canada and I’m looking for an adoptive family who can continue to make me progress!

I’m a handsome 1-year-old male who is about 33lbs.

I’ve never experienced life in a home or the love of a family. So, I’m looking for a very understanding family who will help me to understand the rules of living in society and to trust people, especially strangers.

I also have a lot to learn about living in a house! I’m learning to wear my claws out on a rough board and to wear a collar. To come back to the human who’s calling me and also to let myself be handled and touched everywhere! I’ll need a patient family who will be able to show me lots of other things like leash walking (I never did that in my old life) or how to cooperate during a vet exam, because I got pretty scared when I was examined here upon arriving. Do you have the necessary experience and patience to help me with all this and more?

At the centre, I had several dog friends my size. I’m selective so, obviously, proper introductions will be necessary if I’m to live another dog. We don’t know how I’d behave with a cat, so my family would have to be very experienced and willing to get professional assistance if necessary, if I’ll be sharing my environment with a feline.

I can live with children over 12, as I’m still afraid of sudden movements or visitors, so small humans are not ideal for me.

I kind of like to explore, so a fenced yard is highly recommended, because if I’m allowed to wander, I may not come back, and I’ll be afraid of people trying to find me.

My energy level is quite high given my age. I need enough stimulation and activities every day to be fulfilled. I’m looking for someone who’ll help me expend my energy adequately, even if leash walking is not possible at the beginning. I love to play outside in the yard here with my doggy friends.

I’m not very vocal, so life in a condo or apartment would be possible, but this will require some work.

I’m vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and I’ll be neutered shortly.

So I’m looking for a patient, gentle and calm family that will give me time to come out of my shell and learn all sorts of things!

Je suis un petit chien de l'Indonésie. Ma maman a été sauvée du commerce de la viande de chien. J'ai été sauvé, soigné, puis amené au Canada par Humane Society International / Canada.

J'ai beaucoup appris depuis mon arrivée au Canada et je cherche une famille adoptive qui pourra continuer de me faire progresser!

Je suis un joli mâle qui pèse environ 15 kg qui est âgé d'environ 1 an.

Je n'ai jamais connu la vie en maison ni l'amour d'une famille. Je cherche donc un foyer très compréhensif qui m'aidera à comprendre les règles de la vie en société, et à faire confiance aux gens, surtout les étrangers.

J'ai aussi beaucoup à apprendre sur la vie dans une maison ! J'apprends à user mes griffes sur une planche rugueuse et à porter mon collier. À revenir vers l'humain qui m'appelle et aussi à me faire toucher un peu partout! Je devrai avoir une famille patiente qui saura me montrer plein d'autres choses comme la marche en laisse (je n'ai pas connu cela dans mon ancienne vie) ou comment coopérer à un examen vétérinaire, car mon examen en arrivant ici m'a fait peur. Avez-vous l'expérience et la patience nécessaires pour m'aider avec tout ça et plus encore?

Au centre, j'ai eu plusieurs amis chiens de ma taille. Je suis sélectif et des présentations seront nécessaires pour vivre avec un autre chien bien entendu. La cohabitation avec un chat est inconnue, donc la famille devra être très expérimentée et prête à obtenir de l'aide professionnelle au besoin si un félin partagera mon environnement.

Je peux vivre avec des enfants de plus de 12 ans, car je suis encore craintif des mouvements brusques ou des visiteurs, donc les petits humains ne sont pas idéaux pour moi.

J'ai une tendance à vouloir explorer, donc une cour clôturée est fortement recommandée, car si on me laisse me balader, il est possible que je ne revienne jamais et j'aurai peur des gens qui tenteront de me retrouver.

J'ai un niveau d'énergie assez élevé vu mon âge. J'ai besoin d'assez de stimulations et d'activités par jour pour être épanoui. Je cherche quelqu'un qui va pouvoir dépenser mon énergie adéquatement, même si la marche en laisse ne sera pas possible au début. J'adore jouer dans la cour avec mes amis chiens ici pour faire du sport.

Je suis peu vocal, donc la vie en condo/appartement serait possible, mais du travail sera requis.

Je cherche donc une famille douce et calme qui saura me donner du temps pour sortir de ma coquille et apprendre plein de choses!
