This is our handsome boy Orion. He was impounded as a stray at a kill shelter and no owner came forward to claim him. Due to his unhappy behavior he was not available to the public and was depending on being pulled by a rescue organization only.

" due to his behavior struggles he is NOT eligible to be adopted out of state!"

He did not like to be picked up and was nippy without specific warning but not unprovoked. He first did fantastic at the groomer but after his foster mom left he got mad and snapped at the groomer. A patient and experienced groomer is needed. He would also benefit from a behaviorist who will work with the new family.
He gets very upset when you leave him and there was a case where he was very bonded to a young girl who adopted him for a week and she petted him on the head and said that she will be right back and as soon as she turned around he went for her foot.

On the other hand he loves snuggles, has gotten better about getting picked up, he is fantastic with cats and dogs and loves to ride in the car. He is crate and house trained.
He enjoys walks and does sit on command and shake for treats.

He needs an experienced person who will still work with him on his quirks. The breed is known to be dominant and rough, He needs someone who can put their foot down, and even consult a trainer if necessary. He is a great companion and has so much potential. He was most likely just under socialized and neglected.

He will be absolutely fine with guests coming to the house and be amongst people but will need a home with no children.
