Meet Ophelia
Hi, I’m Ophelia! I’m a happy, skinny 50 pound-ish Shepherd mix. I was living in a shelter in the Kentucky floods area when I charmed my way onto the Second City K9 rescue van. Now I’m showing my foster mom what a good girl I am!
I wag my tail a lot—especially if someone looks at me or I run into one of my dog buds. I’m learning ’sit’ and ’down’—as long as treats are involved. I like belly rubs, butt scratches and trying to get close enough to lick your face. I’m not much of a couch potato. I’d rather lay on the floor or my bed close by and watch to see if you're going towards the door...‘cuz, yes, I wanna go outside! Out where the birds and cicadas are singing and there are squirrels and rabbits - heaven!
Oh and just so you know, I always take care of ‘business’ outside too! You wanna go on a car ride—I’m in! If I have to stay home alone, I am very well-behaved which is good ‘cuz I don’t like crates much. Just don’t leave food on the counter—that’s too tempting, even for a good girl like me!
If you’re ready for a new roommate, reach out and schedule a meet-and-greet today!

We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog.
Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess.
Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area. Questions? Email us at adoptions@sccrescue.org. Hope to see you become part of the SCCR family!
