Meet Ophea Blush

Ophea Blush is beginning to bloom!!!! Here are some things to know if considering her for adoption....
1. It will take a few weeks post adoption before her people get to see this feisty and playful girl. She is going to be shy and fearful, but we have learned her ins and outs and the best way to let her decompress and come into her own. It will be nothing but a reward when it does!!!!
2. She would love to have a similar size playmate. Last week when Rozena Rozena Dena was here, she brought out the player in Ophea and she hasn't stopped since. It was a big turning point for her. She would not love to have a four month old lab puppy as a companion....though Ezra keeps trying.
3. Though she walks on leash and absolutely needs leash walks to expose her to the rest of the world and build confidence, she needs a fenced in yard. She absolutely adores her outdoor time off leash and needs the safety of a fence because she will startle and run. But her off leash time here has been very important in building confidence as well.
4. Once she declares you her own, she is eager to bond and a total velcro dog. You will never do anything alone again.
5. As stated before, she startles easily, this is not going to go away completely, likely. But here is how it works for her....when she first came here two weeks ago, she would startle, bolt and it would take a long time of letting her pull herself together to recover. Now she startles, quickly runs about 10 feet and stops and recovers quickly.
6. She is crate trained and we are doing great with housebreaking, but it's a work in progress and right now I'll say she is schedule trained because we go out many times on a regular schedule to avoid accidents since she does not know how ro communicate it yet.
She is amazing. She has gone from hiding under a couch in her first foster home, to raising her puppies in another and never wanting to leave them, to finally finding who she is and loving herself and this new world!!!

Ophea is up to date on shots and preventatives and is microchipped. Her adoption fee is $250 plus any additional donation you feel appropriate. Our adoption fee is set to a level to make adoptions happen. They do not cover our costs. Thank you for your generosity and interest in our dogs!

All dogs adopted locally through SGDR receive a free six-week session of obedience classes and a lifetime of behavior support through our Project REWARD program with trainer Ashley Reum.

You must have an approved application before being able to visit a dog. Visit our website below for an adoption application https://www.snootygiggles.com/dog-application/

If you expect to leave the dog alone for long periods of time, please do not consider adopting a puppy. Puppies need lots of attention and companionship. Thanks.

All known information about the animal is listed above. We do our best to give accurate information, but most of our dogs are rescues and do not come with a known history.
