Opal came into Fulton County as a stray, picked up from someone's back yard. She was throwing up and very lethargic with pale gums, a painful abdomen, and an elevated temperature. She tested positive for Parvovirus. The highly overcrowded animal control was no place for her and she needed immediate medical care in order to survive. Fulton County reaches out to multiple rescue organizations, but everyone was full. BullsEye Rescue wasn't able to take Opal in, but they stepped up to cover her Parvo treatment at Blue Pearl Emergency Hospital. After spending days in the Emergency Hospital, Open was due to be returned to the shelter with her weakened immune system and we just couldn't let that happen. Our fosters banded together and we were able to give Opal her freedom ride on 8/2/19.
Opal has settled into foster-care like a champ. She is working on learning basic dog things like crate-training, house-training, and walking nicely on a leash. She has recently completed her quarantine for Parvo and has started to met her furry foster siblings. Opal loves playing with other dogs! She would love a home with another dog who likes to play. She was also nice to her the resident cat! Opal also really enjoys when someone throws the ball for her to chase over and over again - it never gets old! She is proving to be an incredibly sweet, well-mannered young lady. Opal is in the market for a forever family to snuggle with (she's really good at that!)
