This adorable mud hippo is a huge cuddle bug! Onyx is an easy-going, senior boy who just needs a soft place to land. He spends much of his time with a Kong toy clamped in his mouth, which he loves to show off to his friends. He loves walks but is equally happy to hang out and watch the world go by. He'd make a fine guardian for a home and yard, especially if he can keep watch from a comfy bed on a porch!

We are extra determined to find the right home for Onyx, because he's had such a rough life so far. Now, this inherently good boy is healthy and finally free to begin the next chapter of his life. We're just here to guarantee that this time around it's a good one.

Onyx needs to be an only dog, but he grew up in a house with cats and appears to have done well with them.
