O'Neil - playful bashful boy Spaniel Ossining, NY

Some of the best dogs come in bashful packages! That is entirely true for O'Neil.. What an amazing and incredibly resilient doggie he is. When he first came off the transport van he was frozen.. he didn't know how to walk on the leash, didn't know who we were or where the heck he was. We immediately knew we had to pair him up with a social dog; enter Henry! Henry has been helping acclimate O'Neil to the Love Dogs routine and other things like playing in the sprinkler and learning how to comfortable enough on the leash to enjoy it and explore.

At first O'Neil would only follow Henry but then began branching out on his own! He is building SO MUCH self confidence in such a short amount of time.. it's truly remarkable. Upon first meeting O'Neil, he will keep his distance and observe from a far. He's not darty or panicky though.. he just sits back and waits. He's a very laid-back and calm boy. After some time he will work up enough courage to come over and take some treats from you and will immediately allow you to pet him. O'Neil gains trust through walks, shared affection and playtime.

O'Neil seems to get along well with most other dogs although his personality is emerging more and more with each passing day. He sprints around the yard rolling upside down in the grass and just loving life with his playmates.
