WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR SAM AT THIS TIME
Every once in awhile you come across a dog with the wisdom of the ages - - a wise old soul that you wish could tell you the story of where he's been and what he's seen. Sam is that dog. He has the gentleness and calm of a sage; an obedient gentleman with impeccable manners who knows the love of humans. And that is what makes it all the more puzzling - - how someone could just abandon a boy this good on the streets of rural Arkansas, in the dead of winter, and walk away. He was picked up and brought to a high-kill shelter with a one-way door in, but we knew we had to save him. He's with us now, and we have faith someone will open their heart and home to this one-in-a-million boy.
Sam is a soulful boy who loves people and is welcomed by other dogs. He's calm and well-mannered, affectionate and very even-tempered, highly intelligent and always kind. Not an alpha bone in his body. He's happy to play with anyone who invites him - - human or canine -- but he is fine on his own if you're too busy. Sam just never wants to be a bother to anyone. And he's absolutely beautiful inside and out: loving, patient, a true jewel. The shelter director calls him an "A+ dog", an honor bestowed on only the greatest of the great.
We think Sam is about 5 - 7 years old, he weighs about 60+ pounds, and he's a very healthy boy. We can't see much more than Lab in him (maybe a touch of hound?) but he is one of the most soulful and gentle boys you'll ever see -- he just wants to be loved. If you have a one-in-a-million home for a one-in-a-million dog, please visit www.pinkshelter.org for more information about the adoption process. Full vetting AND neuter included in his $450 adoption fee. Transport fee is additional $140. IF YOU HAVE AOL or YAHOO PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM FILE FOR OUR RESPONSE
